A graduate of Western Michigan University and Thomas M. Colley Law School, Shirley focuses on serving the elderly, the disabled, and those who love and care for them. She has spoken locally and nationally on Elder Law issues and is passionate about educating the public on the unique aspects of Elder Law and Estate Planning for all. She is frequently appointed as a Guardian ad Litem and Appointed Counsel, and is highly respected for her practical approach to difficult situations and zealous advocacy for her clients. As a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Shirley has served on the ISBA Military Affairs Committee and the ISBA Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission, and is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She is also a long-time volunteer with Wills for Heroes, a pro bono organization that provides basic estate planning for first responders and their spouses. Shirley is married to the man of her dreams with whom she shares six adult children and five amazing grandchildren. She and her husband love to cycle the trails on their one-acre island or kayak the river that surrounds it.
